| BREAKING NEWS!!! Eileen Davidson leaving The Young and the Restless! 16.11.06 According to www.soaps.com, our beloved Eileen Davidson has been let go from her current role as Ashley Abbott on The Young and the Restless. The reason has not been provided by the show or CBS, but viewers are aware of Davidson's lack of storyline. Eileen Davidson, nominated twice for the Outstanding Lead Actress Emmy Award, has not had a decent storyline for a few years. Although Davidson brings much to her role, the role itself was disappearing and the writers' interest in Ashley has noticeably waned. Davidson's talents were severely dissipated. Soaps.com quotes Davidson as saying, "Ashley didn't have a center anymore." Davidson created the role of Ashley Abbott in 1982 and left in 1988. She established the character so well that a suitable recast proved to be impossible. Davidson pursued other roles, including Kelly Capwell on Santa Barbara and five roles on Days of Our Lives (Kristen Blake, Susan Banks, Sister Mary Moira Banks, Thomas Banks, and Penelope Kent). Davidson returned to Young and the Restless in 1999 in a move that stunned the industry. Rumors are flying that Davidson is set to return to Days of our Lives in one or more of the aforementioned roles. Davidson's last airdate is reportedly January 11. | Eileen Davidson has a book deal! The talented Ms. Davidson will write a mystery novel with Robert J. Randisi set in the world of soap operas in a two-book deal, by Dominick Abel at Dominick Abel Associates (World English) and Penguin Books. Davidson plans to begin writing in January. My inside source tells me the title of the book is The Yearning Tide. More information as it comes! (Webmasters note: I teach literature courses at a university and it would be awesome to have my students read her work! I'll see if I can fit her into my syllabus somehow) |

As Marlena visits the Phoenix she and viewers will be stunned to see a photo of Eileen Davidson's character! This is part of a storyline that will reveal that the current character, EJ Wells, is the son of Susan Banks and Stefano DiMera. Needless to say, Eileen portrayed Susan (and almost everyone else on the show) during her time on Days of our Lives. This brings even more rumors that Eileen will return to Days of our Lives. Although the show is in talks with Eileen, no confirmation of her return has been made. |

According to suprising reports, Days of our Lives never approached the actress who could have guaranteed a dramatic ratings increase with any one of her previous characters. CBS has confirmed that Eileen Davidson will star on the daytime drama as her previous chemist character that she originated in 1982 on The Young and the Restless. Eileen's Ash will have a secret relationship with a major Bold and the Beautiful character that will cause a great stir. Ashley Abbott with move to LA in order to create a new fragrance for the Forrester clan. Fans are puzzled as Ashley and her daughter, Abby,departed Genoa City and headed to Hong Kong.
